First time surfers can expect to learn the easiest and correct methods of standing up on a surfboard, basic surfing techniques, safe board handling in the water, and general water safety awareness – essential knowledge and skills for taking your personal surfing to the next level.
Some may not care less about safety and accreditation, but just so you know, we pride ourselves on offering the most professional surf lessons & coaching sessions with a dedicated small student/instructor ratio that keeps safety as its top priority – right next to you having fun, that is. We use soft safe ISA Approved surfboards that are easy to learn on and keep you warm with 5/3mm C-Skins wetsuits. (Booties, hoods and gloves are also used from November until March). All of our instructors are fully qualified in either a level 1 or level 2 surf coaching, are qualified beach lifeguards and have a certificate in child protection.

Kids Surf Lesson Age:
- 8 - 16 years of age. (Children under the age of 8 may join but must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Also see our family packages.)
Surf Lesson Time:
- Daily 364 days a year (Closed Christmas Day). Choose from either 10am or 2pm. Extra daily sessions may be available, so just ask!
Surf Lesson Includes:
- All tuition and equipment (surfboard, wetsuit, booties). We use 5/3mm wetsuits all year around to ensure you stay warm!
- Insurance
- Changing Facilities
- Transport to/from the beach
- An introduction to surfing with equipment overview, wave/sea assessment. If you've already covered the basics, we'll tailor the session to suit your needs.
- 20 min land coaching
- Allow 3 hours from start to finish
Surf Lesson Schedule:
- Make your way down to Surfworld Surf Shop (Main Street, Bundoran, Co. Donegal - next to the Holyrood Hotel) 20min prior to your surf lesson starting. It is important that you arrive 20min before your lesson starts to allow enough time to change into your wetsuit and get ready to hit the water on time.
- Next we will get everyone together at our coaching facility, do some introductions and then advise you on which beach you will be having your surf lesson. Most lessons are held at Tullan Strand. But if the swell or wind isn't right, then we often use Rossnowlagh or Streedagh.
- Then we all head to the designated beach where our surf instructors will introduce you to the exhilarating sport of surfing. You may ride with us in our minibus or use your own transport.
- Get ready for the ride of your life!! Let's go surfing!!
