I first met Richie, Briohny and the Surfworld staff late last year when i went up to Fundoran for a group lesson. Though there was 12 of us i had such a laugh and have been bitten by the surfing bug ever since. After that i jumped at the chance to surf again(the 2 and a half hour drive from Dublin is nothing!) I had some success with other trainers but never the same as when i went up for my first semi-private group lesson with Richie. The improvement in our surfing was staggering. Not only did our technique improve but our confidence was through the roof. For the first time i was planning ahead, working hard and probably most importantly, surfing safe. You seriously cannot beat the elation of a lesson with Richie when everything goes well. A huge bonus is that the lesson is enjoyable, i think we spent half the time laughing(an internal and external work-out!). The best surfer out on the water is the one with the biggest smile on his face!
I would passionately recommend Richie to anyone looking to take their surf to the next level. If not for that, then at least to hear some of his accents... His Dublin one is particularily hilarious "Bleedin' Rapih!". The perfect mix of professionalism and funny banter.
The Surfworld staff are incredibly friendly and professional. They're able to answer any question surfing related or not. Whether its just a friendly chat you want or advice on the latest gear, Surfworld is perfect. I know ill be making time to visit Briohny and co. as often as i can!
