Our lessons run daily at 10am and 2pm. More sessions may be available so just ask.
Do I need to book or can I just turn up on the day?
Yes you DEFINITELY need to book. Please don't just turn up because we may not be able to fit you in. We run a tight instructor/student ratio (1:8) and need to ensure that we have the correct amount of instructors for the amount of students.
What do I need to bring to the surf lesson?
All you need is a towel and swimsuit. We provide the rest.
Am I in safe hands?
Our surf instructors are fully ISA (Irish Surfing Association) qualified with a minimum in level 1 surf coaching. All instructors are qualified beach lifeguards with a certificate in child protection. All instructors are also Garda vetted. We have a small student to instructor ratio to ensure safety and the ultimate surfing experience. Your instructor will be with you at all times.
Do I need to know how to swim?
It is advised that you do know how to swim. You don't have to be an excellent swimmer, just competent in the water. Beginner surf lessons are held in waist depth water.
How many surf lessons do I need?
We generally advise 5 surf lessons to grasp the fundamentals of the sport. After this we recommend joining one of our improver courses and also renting gear before purchasing your very own.

Please meet at our surf shop ‘Surfworld’. We are located on the Main Street, directly beside the Holyrood Hotel. You can't miss our massive 'HULK GREEN' building!
How early should I arrive down to my surf lesson?
Please arrive 15min prior to your surf lesson starting. This will allow enough time to get changed into your wetsuit and ready to hit the water on time. If you are a group of 6 or more, please arrive down 30min prior to your surf lesson starting.
